Jack Lepiarz:

Macchu Picchu in Union Square. Technically Somerville, though.

Julie:

Another vote for Machu Picchu in Somerville. There are 2 places in Union w/ same name, 1 is for chicken.

Sassy McGee:

Hmmm... That's a good question. The only Peruvian place I can think of is Nazca Cafe in Chelsea.

Sarah Eats Ribs:

Not Peruvian but Casa Portugal in Cambridge has one of the best frango dishes you'll ever have in your life.

MBTA Info:

Rincon Limeño in Eastie, near the airport. They have sit-down but you can also get takeout.

Kim Carvalho:

El Chalan in East Boston.

If you are looking for pollo a la brasa (and not just peruvian fare), El Chalan in East Boston has GOT to be the best place in the Boston Area.

It is a REAL hole in the wall, but don't be put off, their shit is legit.

My El Chalan experience was pretty gross. Has to be some serious health code violations in there.

Rincon Limeño is pretty good, but hands down Pollo a la Brasa in Union Square, Somerville is the best. The Peruanisimo sandwich kicks ass. The owners' main restaurant, Machu Pichu, around the corner, is a bit pricey but great for dinner. Live music on Friday/Saturday and a great pisco sour.

Machu Picchu Charcoal Chicken (Across the street form sister restaurant Machu Picchu) should be illegal. Its too good and too cheap and the aji sauce is to amazing. I'm worried I may have to join Machu Picchu Anonymous to overcome my pollo brasa addiction.

Look,

if you are uppity, don't go to El Chalan. You clearly haven't traveled the world.

Besides, Ricon Limeno is run by Bolivians. If you want almost-Peruvian, go to Rincon.

Truthfully, I like Rincon for some things, but El Chalan has the best pollo. It is what it is. Ive been to Macchu Picchu in Cambridge, and their pollo doesn't compare.

The best seco and lomo in Boston use to be this small place in the South End, but the owners packed up and went back to Peru. Sad.

Haven't had the good fortune to visit Peru. But just because I don't care for greasy chicken with the service person's hair cooked onto the skin (!) doesn't mean I haven't traveled (or lived for many years in Latin America, for that matter) or am uppity. I'm rather downitty.

Rincon Limeño run by Bolivians? Thats disappointing the food is really good though. El Chalan was by far the best roast chicken in boston area now a days it leaves something to be desired often under cooked etc. they do have the best marinade for said chicken and the best dipping sauce the yellow sauce. Better than machu picchu and rl as far as hair and health code violations ive been in their kitchen and i think you exagerate with the hairs and stuff although they are very shabby I think that is part of there appeal its GHETTO BUT YUMMY. LIKE DOWN SOUTH LOL

What is a la brasa? Is "peruvian chicken" a "thing"? Dude, just get some Thai food - I guarantee you it's better.

...and Rincon Limeño and Machu Picchu Charcoal Chicken.

I'd also put in a plug for rotisserie chicken done in the style of the Dominican Republic (as at Alex's Chimis), Puerto Rico (as at Maná Escondido), El Salvador (as at Pollo Doreño, which has the bonus of a suicide-food sign), and Guatemala (as at Pollo Campero).
