Vlad, is that you?

EastieStrong wonders if anybody else is getting phone calls from numbers in Russia these days; she reports a friend got a call from the same number as seen above.

It's not necessarily what you think it is

It is possible to spoof any number and caller id. I've received calls from my own phone number, from 000-000-0000, and various other bogus numbers and/or callers named on the caller id. So it may appear it's from Russia, but it really could be from anywhere

Like the Chinese embassy scam

Trump jokes aside, my guess is its an immigration scam targeted at Russians similar to the Chinese-language one going around

to find out why they are calling

As apinful as it is, somebody is going to have to step up and take a hit for the team and answer one of these calls.

Funny

My wife told me at dinner tonight that she'd had two in the past week.

7 (954)700-10-94 last week. Good advice others have given here: don't pick up numbers you don't recognize. And never call them back! If it's important, they'll leave you a message.
