Parkman Drive is once again open to cars, seeing as how there's no longer any need to provide extra space for walkers and joggers around Jamaica Pond, or something. In any case, DCR said it was removing the barriers tonight.
A roving UHub photographer happened upon this scene on Parkman Drive near where it meets the Arborway and the Jamaicaway around 9 a.m. He reports:
Large emergency response. No word on the occupants, but I see a few guys standing next to the car.
Clayton Harper provides an overview of the changes DCR is proposing for the intersection of Parkman Drive and Perkins Street on the northern side of Jamaica Pond, such as installing traffic lights and new paths and narrowing the roads on either side of the intersection to force drivers to slow down.
