The Trustees of Reservations and the city formally dedicate the Winthrop Community Garden, 25 Winthrop St. in Roxbury, between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

The city's newest community garden features a large metal statute honoring the Black Panther Party by Killion Mokwete, an assistant professor of architecture at Northeastern.

Boston Police report arresting a 16-year-old from Hyde Park at the Dearborn STEM Academy on Winthrop Street in Roxbury after administrators found a gun in a fanny pack he was wearing around 9:45 a.m.

Police say the teen, not named because of his age, was charged with being delinquent for possession of a gun on school property, possession of a loaded firearm and possession of ammunition.

The owner of the Crimson Galleria and nearby properties clustered along JFK Street wants a federal judge to block a proposed Winthrop Street dispensary, arguing marijuana remains illegal under federal law and so its proposed operators - and the city of Cambridge, the town of Georgetown and the state of Massachusetts - are violating the federal anti-racketeering law.
