WBZ dispatched grizzled reporter Bill Shields down to Hyde Park today in search of the unstuffed murderbird rampaging through the Westminster Avenue area. Fortunately, because of Covid-19, Shields was equipped with a microphone on a boom, with which he was able to fend off the angry avian long enough to make his escape.
Victim identified as Dennis Mejia, 43, of Canton.
NBC Boston reports three people were shot on Hammond Street near Westminster Street around 7:45 p.m.
Boston Police report arresting two men, one from Hyde Park and one from Randolph, on gun charges at Ross Playground in Hyde Park yesterday after somebody called 911 to report a guy with a gun there. Read more.

John Mentor, 32, of Hyde Park, is scheduled for arraignment in West Roxbury court this afternoon on four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and various firearms offenses, because the leg wound he got after being shot by at least one officer yesterday evening was not serious enough to keep him in the hospital, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Police are on Westminster Street between Huntington Avenue and Manion Road, where Mass Incident Paging and Scan Boston report police shot a suspect in the leg. WFXT reports the suspect was shooting at some people when an officer arrived on scene - and the guy pointed his gun at him.
