Brookline.News reports the Coolidge Corner Theatre, which is showing both "Oppenheimer" and "Barbie," sold more tickets their opening weekend than on any other weekend in history.

The Independent Film Festival Boston, scheduled to unspool April 22-29 at the Somerville, Brattle, and Coolidge Corner theatres, will be postponed to unspecified future dates. The theatres themselves remain open for now, and IFFB urges moviegoers to patronize them.

ArtsEmerson, operator of the Cutler Majestic and Paramount theatres, is suspending all of its programming through at least the end of March, including the current show Plata Quemada and the upcoming Parable of the Sower.

The Arts Fuse says farewell to David Kleiler, who helped save the Coolidge Corner Theatre, founded the Boston Underground Film Festival and taught at Babson, Emerson and UMass Boston. His son, David Kleiler, Jr., reported the news and reports there will be a marquee ceremony at the Coolidge Corner at 6 p.m. today.

Missing from the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline

The Coolidge Corner Theatre reports somebody stole a photo off the wall of its basement lobby. But not just any photo:

The photo is of the graffiti artists from the movie WILD STYLE when they were here at the Coolidge decorating the alley wall, and is an important piece of our history. The picture is a color photo in a black frame with a white mat, about 20" x 22".
