Hopeful Emily reports this antlered-up deer visited a VFW Parkway back yard - just across from Allandale Woods - last evening. And now you know why a Boston parkway has Deer Crossing signs.
This afternoon, Matt the roaming UHub photographer spotted the remains of a tree laying across one side of the VFW Parkway, just past where Centre Street splits off from it, near Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Catholic Cathedral.
DCR, we assume, planted some new trees along VFW Parkway at Atlantis Street in West Roxbury last Thursday. And sometime over the weekend, Mike Bresinski reports, somebody sawed them in half.

The trust that oversees a West Roxbury condo complex yesterday sued National Grid to recoup its expenses to rebuild from a six-alarm fire in 2018 it says was fed from a National Grid main and connection it charges the company refused to repair despite repeated reports of a gas odor dating back nearly two years. WBUR rang up the ICE office in Boston to ask about the three guys with chest fanny packs who stopped a black jogger on VFW Parkway today. ICE said it could neither confirm nor deny whether those guys were actually ICE agents.
A Black man out for a jog down leafy VFW Parkway in West Roxbury today reports he was stopped by three guys who got out of an SUV and tried to ask him questions and asked for his ID, at least until he took out his phone and began recording them - after they showed him badges that read "ICE" [See video]. Boston firefighters responded to the rear of Party City, 1580 VFW Parkway shortly before 11:30 p.m. when a flames from a pile of burning trash extended to the building. Firefighters doused the flaming debris and the rest of the fire before it could breach the walls of the building. Arson investigators were requested since trash doesn't usually self-immolate like that. Read more.
