Madison Park High School and the O'Bryant School, which are next to each other on Malcolm X Boulevard in Roxbury, went into "safe" mode Friday afternoon because of what school officials say was a swatting: Somebody called Boston Police to report somebody was on the grounds of one of the schools with a gun, only when police arrived, they determined it was a hoax. Boston Police responded in force to 855 Commonwealth Avenue around 7:50 p.m. on a report of a shooter. BU then sent an alert, which prompted students seeing or hearing anything suspicious to call 911. Read more.
Stanley Staco reports that around noon, school officials and police shut Charlestown High School and East Boston High School after somebody called and said they were on the way with a rifle, first to Charlestown, then East Boston.
