A Vermont teenager who volunteered at the New England Aquarium is Boston's latest measles patient, the Boston Public Health Commission reports.

The commission says anybody who worked at or visited the aquarium's main building after noon on May 19 or 22 and who isn't sure of their measles immunity status, should stay away from the public until June 9 or June 12, depending on which day. Although measles usually shows up 10 to 12 days after exposure, it can take up to three weeks to develop.

Adam describes how a couple of recovering sea turtles at the New England Aquarium got tags in preparation for their release into the ocean:

... Both rear flippers are tagged. The area is cleaned with sterile scrubs in order to prevent any infection. This process is not painful for the turtle, and probably can best be described as the pinch you would feel if getting your ear pierced. We also numb the area with lidocaine prior to application, so there is little chance they will feel any discomfort. It is a very quick process, and the turtles are already back in their tanks swimming and don't even notice their new jewelry! ...

With photos.

The Herald reports South Boston state Sen. Jack Hart is proposing moving the Aquarium to Southie, City Hall to the Aquarium site and, um, something to City Hall Plaza (ooh, I know, I know: Luxury apartments!).

Of course, the same exact argument made against moving City Hall to South Boston (lack of real mass transit, unless you consider the Silver Line real mass transit) would apply to the Aquarium.

A home video captured a shark as it swam up the Charles River and then followed it as it chased a Duck Boat full of people! The Boston Globe has more pictures of the invasion! I don't believe anyone was injured but there has to be more to this.

Apparently, all the hot young drug dealers now buy snapping turtles to guard their stash. But one dealer's loss is the New England Aquarium's gain.

Speaking of drug dealers, a Roslindale woman learned last week that if somebody's sending you drugs in the mail, you might want to insist on small packages, rather than containers so large the police don't have room in their drug safe to store it after they arrest you.

Innocent until proven guilty, and what sort of name for a killer turtle is "Fluffy?"

Jenny goes to some evening function at the Aquarium and the food consists entirely of seafood:

Also, she provides proof why hearing only half a conversation can be oh so fun.
