The Boston Licensing Board today approved plans to replace the former Storyville club in the Copley Square Hotel at Exeter Street and Huntington Avenue with a restaurant aimed at what its lawyer said was "an older, more sophisticated crowd" only out to "enjoy food," not bring the house down. A developer has proposed a two-building project at 804-812 Huntington Ave. that would feature life sciences along Huntington Avenue and 23 residential units in the rear on what now consists of a parking lot, a vacant lot and an unused building where the Red Cross once took blood donations. Nuclear-sensing helicopter near the R2-D2 building in the Back Bay

Mark Clancy scored a great shot of the National Nuclear Security Administration helicopter today as it flew over part of the Marathon route to take in background radiation levels just in case something happens where that might become important to know.

The copter crew does this every year in the days before the race.

As part of orientation, could you please teach a class called “How to Cross a Street”? This current wandering en masse into the middle of Huntington ave with headphones in while staring at their phones isn’t working out.

Uncollected trash

A disgusted citizen files a 311 complaint about the uncollected trash behind 873 Huntington Ave. - which will only get really fetid over the next couple of days.

Over a week now, this is unacceptable!

The owner of 409 Huntington Ave. says it will soon file plans with the BPDA to add 14 new floors to the shell of the current apartment building - and pledges to hire Franklin Institute students to work on the project. Read more.
