The Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that prosecutors can use a pellet gun found in a man's Jeep as evidence against him when he goes on trial for an alleged case of road rage on I-93. Read more.

The Board of Appeals today approved Boston's fourth medical-marijuana dispensary at 50 Clapp St., off Massachusetts Avenue in Dorchester. Because of its location near the Methadone Mile, the proposed operator agreed to set a minimum purchase price of $40 to discourage any nearby addicts thinking of putting together enough money to buy a joint. Navillus Terrace fire

Boston firefighters responded around 9:40 p.m. for a fire at 11 Navillus Terrace, off Bowdoin and Winter, in Dorchester. The fire was reported knocked down at 10:10 p.m.

The Boston Fire Department reports 15 residents were displaced and estimated damage at $150,000. The cause is under investigation.

Boston Police report officers who captured a man they suspected of packing a gun had to call in a BFD ladder truck early Saturday to retrieve the firearm from the roof of the Strand Theatre on Columbia Road. Read more.

Pumpkins: A Mattapan Line driver was indicted on insurance and worker's-comp fraud charges for a Halloween, 2016 incident in which a pal in a Michael Myers mask - and carrying a plastic pumpkin - dragged him off his trolley and beat him badly enough that he could begin to collect worker's comp, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and Transit Police say. Boston Police report arresting a participant in some fisticuffs on Columbia Road early Wednesday who, they say, duked it out while packing two loaded handguns.

Police say officers on patrol spotted a bunch of guys fighting on Columbia Road near Devon Street shortly after midnight. Read more.

MassDOT reports the person was on I-93 northbound near Savin Hill tonight. The road northbound was shut and traffic diverted onto Morrissey Boulevard. One lane on I-93 south was also shut.

A second man is scheduled for arraignment today for the murder of Shaquille Browder in the parking lot of the Burger King at Columbia Road and Washington Street last month, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Paul Nutting videoed the riders who normally cause problems on Boston's narrower streets and avenues going out for a spin on Morrissey before getting on I-93 in Dorchester. Jesskowski reports about ten riders stunting as they got on the highway around 6:30 p.m.

Boston Police report a man officers tried to stop for a broken brake light on Columbia Road at Geneva Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. instead sped away - and then crashed into several cars at Columbia and Glendale Street, where he got out of his still moving car and ran away, only to be pursued and captured. A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Julio Baez, 26, of Charlestown, of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Ryan Morrissey outside a Main Street convenience store on Nov. 5, 2014, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Read more.
