The Boston Fire Department reports a man was pumping gas at the Citgo station at 741 Morrissey Blvd. around 8:15 this morning when the driver of a car behind him failed to stop:

It moved his car out of the station and pinned him between the car that hit him and one of those posts protecting the pumps. Firefighters had to use extrication tools to free the man. Boston EMS treated and transported him with a serious leg injury. While this incident was underway, the overhead fire extinguishing system activated, covering the area with powder.

Henriquez makes his case

Henriquez makes his case to the House.

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly today to expel convicted state Rep. Carlos Henriquez of Dorchester.

In a speech to his now former colleagues, Henriquez insisted he was innocent and never attacked the woman who claimed he did in a Zipcar.

In speeches before the vote, members of the House Ethics Committee alternated between saying a jury begged to differ but that even if they believed him, he would be unable to fulfill his duties as a representative while in his six-month sentence.

Boston Police report they are looking for the driver of a sedan who hit a man on Dorchester Avenue in Fields Corner last night, then just kept on driving.

Witnesses told police the car was possibly a newer Camry or Maxima and that its driver fled on Adams Street towards Park Street.

Around 8:15 p.m. at Dorchester Avenue near the T stop. Due to the severity of the pedestrian's injuries, the homicide unit was summoned.

Boston Police report the man shot to death outside the Ashmont Tedeschi on Sunday was Julien Printemps, 22, of Charlestown.

Boston Police report the arrest of Javaine Watson, 23, for the murder of early on Dec. 14 of Romeo McCubbin.

Watson was arrested this morning and ordered held without bail at his arraignment today in Dorchester District Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

According to the DA's office, Watson, Omar Denton, 29, of Milton, and Omar Bonner, 26, waited for McCubbin to show up around 1:45 a.m. that day, then ambushed and shot him to death.

Pointing to the recent spate of murders, the Japanese consulate in Boston yesterday joined France in urging its citizens to avoid the three neighborhoods:

The number of gang-related murders so far this year in Boston is significantly higher than in past years, according to a Boston Globe report on Jan. 28, 2014. Consequently, we advise Japanese nationals to avoid areas such as Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan, where violence has occurred.

Acting School Superintendent John McDonough announced today that the state has chosen two private education groups to take over control of the Holland and Dever schools in Dorchester, which the state says BPS has been unable to get into shape and which are rated as low as you can get under the scoring system used by the state to judge schools.

An inbound Orange Line train didn't even make it out of the starting gate at Oak Grove early this morning. Somewhere on the Ashmont branch of the Red Line, an outbound train felt that disturbance in the Force and went over to the dark side.

Ambulances took four students at the Martin Luther King Jr. K-8 School to Boston Medical Center for checkups today after they shared pills and vitamins one of them brought in from home.

All four turned out to be fine, Khita Pottinger, principal of the school on Lawrence Avenue in Dorchester, said in a phone message to parents this afternoon:

Mayor Marty Walsh said tonight that murders over the past nine days in Dorchester and Mattapan are all likely part of the same gang feud - and he vowed to stop it now:

This time last year, Boston had seen 15 shootings and 2 gun fatalities. Since January 1st of this year, we have seen 13 shootings and 8 gun fatalities.

The last four shootings are likely related, and are a combination of gang violence and retaliation. It is the understanding of the Boston Police Department that there were prior relationships between the victims and the suspects. ...

A man with past convictions for drug dealing and beating a public employee wound up under arrest early Saturday when police responding to a report of gunfire found him yelling at his ex-girlfriend through her car window - near his running SUV with a loaded gun in the center console - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Boston Police report the Youth Violence Strike Force and postal inspectors took Keyon Taylor, 21, into custody around 1:20 a.m. on Blue Hill Avenue.

Meanwhile, an affidavit by a postal inspector working on the case suggests the investigation is not over - after the attack, police found Taylor's alleged driver and another man in the van from which Taylor allegedly jumped out of on Bailey Street to try to rob the postal worker.

UPDATE: Victim identified as Julien Printemps.

A man in his 20s was shot repeatedly outside the Tedischi shop at 1886 Dorchester Ave., around 9:50 p.m. Boston Police report he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is Boston's sixth murder victim this month.

Trevain Keene

Boston Police have identified the man shot to death on Callender Street Friday evening as Trevain Keene, 22.

He leaves his wife Ashley and their daughter, Aminyah, born last July. He is also survived by his mother, three brothers and a sister.

His friends in the Woodrow Avenue area knew him as Freshy Laflynn, the name he used as a member of a rap group, the Wavy Boyz.

On Tuesday, the owners of a 1998 Toyota and a 2000 Toyota discovered their cars parked at 2 Morrissey Blvd. were missing their converters.

Federal officials report arresting a Dorchester man for a December attack on a postal worker on Bailey Street - and say a second suspect - whom they say actually beat and shot the worker - remains at large.

Maurice Williams Miner-Gittens, 23, was arrested this morning on federal charges of conspiracy to rob, attempted robbery and kidnapping of a federal employee.
