Owl and MBTA worker

The MBTA reports delays on the Riverside Line due to an injured owl caught between the tracks at Brookline Hills, but that a worker safely removed Hooty and handed him over to the town's animal control officer.

A tree that the wind helped convince to obey the law of gravity near Brookline Hills is causing "moderate" delays on the Riverside Line, the MBTA reports.

"Moderate delays," the T says about the little trolley that couldn't. Bristol Whitcher reports:

Smells like burning rubber, "help is on the way"; morale is low.

Burst water main floods Green Line in Brookline Hills

Grace Holley shows us the cascade of water now pouring onto the Riverside Line from a burst water main on an overpass at Brookline Hills - just like the cascade of water that poured onto the Riverside Line from a burst water main on an overpass at Brookline Hills on March 17.

Needless to say, nobody on the Riverside Line is going anywhere fast. Or at all.

Exploded water main above Green Line in Brookline Hills

The Green Line's newest water feature.

Update, Wednesday, 6:20 a.m. The MBTA reports the D Line is back in service.

Grace Holley reports tonight from Brookline Hills, where a loud explosion shortly after 8:30 p.m. was followed by a torrential waterfall from a newly burst water main right above the tracks.

Normally I love water rides but this is a nightmare.

A second Green Line train approached waterfall but went into reverse and backed up, after a long wait.

Now police etc are on scene, lot of flooding on tracks. No more sparks. Right by Brookline Hills Station/Cypress St.

ClaytonA Boston woman used a knife to threaten passengers on an outbound Riverside trolley until she was removed by MBTA and Brookline Police at Brookline Hills last night, the T reports.

Transit Police say Madina Clayton, 52, sat across from a man on a trolley around 9:45 p.m. and took out a folding knife, which she began opening and closing while staring at him:

The victim became uncomfortable and stood up to change seats, Clayton also got up from her seat pointed the knife at the victim and stated "Are you looking at this M***** *****R !" Another witness stated Clayton attempted to engage another male (separate from above) in conversation, when the male got up to change seats Clayton followed him with the knife opened. Other witnesses stated Clayton "haphazardly" swung the knife at yet another male victim as he was disemabrking the trolley.

Seems that despite today's cool temps, a D trolley still managed to die this afternoon, at Brookline Hills. Dave tweets he was on that trolley - and that the T kept the passengers locked up in it for 30 minutes before it finally crawled into Brookline Hills and people were let out (to wait for the shuttle buses the T eventually started running in place of trolleys.
