A federal judge today ordered Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office to notify officers and prosecutors that people generally have the right to secretly record cops and other public employees and officials in public places. Read more.

The Supreme Judicial Court today rejected claims by Michelle Carter that urging her suicidal boyfriend, in both text messages and on the phone, to finish himself off are covered by the First Amendment. Read more.

A federal appeals court yesterday upheld Worcester regulations to ban "aggressive" panhandling, saying the city was not trying to squelch anybody's free speech but rather protect the public from panhandlers getting up in the grills of motorists and pedestrians.

Boston has similar regulations against in-your-face solicitation.

Paula Soto, who shows documentaries in the community room of her apartment building, yesterday filed suit against the city of Cambridge, which she says is infringing her First Amendment rights by threatening to fine her for the leaflets she used to put on hundreds of car windshields each month.

A federal appeals court today upheld a two-week suspension of Randolph's fire chief for discussing budget restraints at a press conference in front of a fatal fire.

Randolph selectmen suspended Charles Foley for seeming to link Proposition 2 1/2 to the deaths. Foley appealed in court, arguing that violated his First Amendment rights.

Incredibly, after I filed a Motion to video with the Court, and provided said Motion to DA Dan Conley's underling Edmond Zabin -- and then proceeded to upload 35 YouTube videos (now with 14,000 views) Dan Conley gave me the stiff arm and a finger toward the face when I moved to ask him a question at conclusion of the Dan Talbot murder trial. He doesn't like the fact that I exposed a situation where it appears that Officer Billy Soto planted a spent .40 cal casing on top of a Gatorade bottle in the trash. Those of us who shoot guns, even occasionally can see that, scroll down and look at pictures, click on them, they are trial exhibits that I shot in hi-res 1600 x 1200
