Lawyers for the owners of the Lower Mills Pub on Dorchester Avenue are hoping the Boston Licensing Board gives them a couple months to unravel a tangled skein of legal issues left when longtime co-owner Nicholas Byrne died after a long illness five years ago, so that they can sell the bar to a prominent Boston restaurant operator.

Around 5 p.m. in front of the library and the CVS on Dorchester Avenue at Richmond Street. The victim's injuries were serious enough to have the homicide unit called in.

Lauren Dezenski at the Dorchester Reporter reports the victim was shot in the head. She adds voting continues at the library - but voters are being directed to an alley entrance behind Ester.

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force is looking for a teenager it says held up the Meetinghouse Bank branch at 2250 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester Lower Mills around 3:15 p.m. last Monday.

This is the same branch where the bank president chased after another robber the month before.

Last week's robber is described as 18-20, about 5'2" with strawberry blond hair and blue or green eyes.

The Dorchester Reporter reports that when some guy robbed the Lower Mills branch of Meetinghouse Bank this afternoon, the bank president sprung into action and ran after the guy, managing to get a punch in before police arrived.

Kevin Wiles and Boston EMS Incidents report a woman was hit by a white pickup around 5 a.m. at River and Washington streets.

Wiles reports she was pronounced dead at Carney Hospital. Boston Police report she was 32.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let the owners of the Ledge, 2261 Dorchester Ave., sell the place - and its valuable liquor license - to a Dorchester resident who plans to remake it as a neighborhood, family-focused restaurant.

Eleanor Arpino, general manager of Davio's in Park Square for 12 years, wants to turn the Ledge into ester, which she said would serve "contemporary comfort food." The restaurant "would be very much approachable for families" and would serve the sort of food she hoped people would buy as takeout two to three times a week.
