Northeastern Global News reports Rébecca Kleinberger’s lab, which had earlier discovered parrots love videochatting with other parrots, has been designing games for tablets that parrots can play - with their beaks and tongues.

Their past research has shown that parrots - with their prodigious intelligence, high sociability and singular physical capabilities - are uniquely poised to benefit from touchscreen technology.

Man with parrot in Roslindale

So anybody lose a parrot in Roslindale today? Like on or near Canterbury Street? Because James Jones-O'Brien here was just relaxing in his yard, almost asleep, in fact, when all of a sudden this bird just landed on him, his wife, Angela, reports (after first taking the photo, of course). Enzo the parrot is missing

State Police have issued an APB for Enzo, a 6-year-old African Gray who flew out of his Revere home. Trooper Dustin Fitch says:

Enzo could have flown anywhere in the Revere, Everett, Malden or Saugus area. If you see Enzo anywhere, please message me and I'll inform Enzo's family who misses him.

Fowl play is not suspected.

Cockatiel

It turned shy when Gregory Adams aimed his camera at it, but that's a yellow-headed cockatiel up in a tree at Fallon Field in Roslindale this morning.

UPDATE: That's Smokey the Cockatiel, whose owner just recently moved to the Fallon Field neighborhood and who didn't realize one of his windows was open over the weekend.

Hard on the heels of last night's parrot report from the Red Line comes Libberding's report from around noon today:

was red line @ mgh. Older gentleman with a cart had a parrot. It climbed up to his shoulder and pooped on him.

Monk parrot

George Cumming photographs the pair of monk parakeets that showed up last fall and survived the winter:

... Now they are back and they are nesting on Bremen St. not far from the Y. This is truly better than chocolate Easter bunnies. They are very vocal and fallen nesting material is strewn all over the sidewalk beneath. It is just amazing to watch these birds while lots of people walk past on their way to the Airport T station. ...
