Roving UHub photographer Christine Beaton reports spotting Stella the pig here at the dog park at Smith Playground in Allston today. That's no dog, you say. Well, sure, but in addition to her wearing a collar, Stella wagged her tail, she reports. That'll do.

These were some of the questions curator Jessica Hernandez had in mind when she put out an open call for "Latinx Identities: Struggles, Perspectives, and Critiques," which is currently on display at the Unbound Visual Arts Exhibit Gallery at the Arthaus in Allston. Read more.

Over the objections of the Allston Civic Association, the Boston Licensing Board today approved a food-serving license with into-the-wee-hours service for an upscalish Taco Bell where Great Scott used to be at Commonwealth and Harvard avenues. Read more.

Local restaurant operator Douglas Bacon today described his planned Hobson's Bar& Kitchen at 353 Cambridge St. in Allston as an American restaurant that will also serve pizza.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports local restaurant operator Douglas Bacon plans to turn the old Regina/Allston Depot on Cambridge Street in Allston into Hobson's Bar & Kitchen, which might offer a DJ and live music as well.

Allston Village Main Streets reports it's canceled the Taste of Allston that had been planned for tomorrow at the Jackson Mann Community Center - a week after the original date was called off due to rain from Hurricane Lee. Read more.

Two developers this week filed plans to further the transformation of Allston's GAP from a warren of student-filled apartments and industrial buildings into a collection of taller residential buildings and towers, with plans for a 322-unit apartment building with a 16-floor wing off Pratt Street, next to the former Conrail train yard. The Boston Licensing Board could decide tomorrow whether to let a proposed liquor-serving Taco Bell Cantina not just serve drinks until 2 a.m. but then stay open another 60 to 90 minutes in the old Great Scott spaces at Harvard and Commonwealth avenues - unless the company agrees to seek a deferral to meet with the Allston Civic Association, whose president called service and hours like that a potential menace to the neighborhood that an understaffed police district might be unable to contain. NBC Boston shows us a good solid storrowing on Soldiers Field Road at the Western Avenue bridge this morning: 18 wheeler? Check. Trailer completely destroyed? Check. Driver about to be in a spot of trouble back at the warehouse? Oh, you know it. Only thing separating it from perfection: No cargo spewed all over the road.

MassDCR says please don't hit our bridges

DCR is out with an online ad spot that urges newcomers to Boston to keep their rental trucks off the river roads - set to just the sort of plaintive music you'd expect on a late-night ASPCA ad:

For just zero dollars a day you can not hit a bridge or overpass on Storrow Drive and and Soldiers Field Road in Boston and Memorial Drive in Cambridge. ... The bridges, and the trucks, will thank you.
