The Bay State Banner reports on the admission by the Rev. Gregory Groover amidst the continuing legal battle between his Charles Street AME church and OneUnited Bank, which wants to foreclose on it.

Groover is also a member of the School Committee, which he chaired until last year. The story fails to note that Banner owner Mel Miller sits on the bank's board of directors.

And the Rev. Gregory Groover told Charles Street AME parishioners to stop giving donations rather than risk having it fall into the hands of the bank seeking to foreclose on the church, the Bay State Banner reports.

In addition to heading up the church, Groover is also chairman of the Boston School Committee.

Ed. note: The Banner once again failed to note in its story that owner Mel Miller is on the board of directors of the bank.

The Bay State Banner reports Gregory Groover, paster of Charles Street AME Church, admitted in bankruptcy court that he lied when he said the church had never missed a payment to OneUnited Bank when it was actually late on 43 of 56 payments and completely missed the last two payments before OneUnited moved to foreclose and the church filed for bankruptcy.

WBUR talks to Mary Tamer, a member of the School Committee who says she cannot believe how Superintendent Carol Johnson was going to just let former O'Bryant co-headmaster Rodney Peterson get away without any punishment after pleading guilty to beating his wife.

Her outrage is unusual on a committee hand-picked by the mayor.
