Live Boston reports a gun battle between the occupants of two cars extended over three blocks in the area of Morton and Norfolk streets shortly before 1 a.m. As many as 15 shots may have been fired. No people hit, but at least one house and several cars were hit by the gunfire.
Boston Police report arresting people from Hyde park, Quincy and Roxbury on gun charges last night after they allegedly ran a red light at Norfolk and Flint streets in Mattapan in a car that matched the description of one fleeing a Mission Hill shooting earlier in the day. Read more.
Boston Police report two men were shot around 11 p.m. on Wednesday outside 138 Norfolk St., near Woodrow Avenue. One victim, a man in his mid-20s, was declared dead at the scene; the other was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Read more.
Boston Police report using a search warrant around 2:0 p.m. yesterday to bust into a Norfolk Street home, where they found a loaded 9mm Luger PT11GT handgun and the 15-year-old they say was the focus of an investigation into gang activity in the area.
The teen, too young to be named, was charged with being delinquent for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
Diovanni Carter, who had a murder charge dismissed last year when the main witness against him died, was arrested on gun charges after a traffic stop early this morning, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report. Read more.
