Patients at Mass. General and Brigham and Women's and their community hospitals and physician groups as well as patients at Mass. Eye and Ear and Dana-Farber are eligible to share in an $18.4-million class-action settlement of a claim involving information the health-care providers' Web site may have shared with Facebook and Google - but they have to sign up by Dec. 15. WBZ reports. The person is now in self quarantine at home and the hospital is alerting everybody the person had contact with. Read more.

Shortly after 2 p.m., fire alarms started going off at the Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary and that, of course, brought a full complement of Boston firetrucks racing to the scene. The infirmary informs:

Code red (fire) called due to someone apparently smoking outside. Another good reason to quit that habit. All clear.

The Boston Courant reports state transportation officials are working on plans to stick both sides of Storrow Drive under a Longfellow Bridge arch, which would let Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary expand one of its buildings and dig a new parking garage under the current Infirmary parking lot in exchange for giving up the parking lot for the new road alignment and new parkland (Ed. note: Link goes to a JPG image of the article, because the Courant remains one of the few newspapers in America to resist the Web).
