A Readville church is asking a judge to let it ignore a restriction in the 1897 deed that limits the use of a side building to "a free and public reading room and library" so that it can put up a six-unit apartment building in its place. Read more.

The Boston Public Health Commission reports crews will be spraying Fowl Meadow on the Milton line on Thursday because all the rain has meant an explosion in the number of mosquitoes in the marshy area. Read more.

Hallman, allegedly

Tykei Hallman, 25, of Hyde Park, a 6'6" former high-school basketball player who now walks with a limp, is scheduled for arraignment in federal court today on a count of robbery involving use of a firearm for the robbery of a Quincy convenience store - but he is the suspect in 15 robberies and robbery attempts in the Boston area - three of them robberies at Mobile station on Neponset Valley Parkway in Hyde Park's Readville section and a failed robbery at Rogers Service down the street. The FBI announced today it's offering $10,000 to anybody who can tell it how to capture a limping man responsible for seven armed holdups and two failed holdup attempts at Boston-area gas stations -- four of them on Neponset Valley Parkway in Readville. Read more.

Wanted for Readville gas-station holdup

The FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force has released photos of a man it says held up a Mobil station in Readville last August - which was among a number of gas stations and convenience stores it says he held up in Boston and towns south of the city. Read more.

Walsh sign in Readville

The Herald reports a Neponset Valley Parkway lawyer has finally taken down his Marty Walsh for Mayor sign after at least one neighbor began complaining about all the Easter decorations festooning it - a few months after the sign was lit up with Christmas lights.

Another resident agreed the sign's time had past, but said it didn't seem much worse than all the Menino references he sees everywhere and which he says he can still see in his dreams.
