A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Reginald Holley and Oasis Pritchett of first-degree murder for the Oct. 17, 2012 death of Alfonso Rivas in a Lyndhurst Street apartment, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
The verdict means a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.
Prosecutors convinced the jury that Holley, 24, and Pritchett, 23, both of Roxbury, planned to rob Rivas of the marijuana they had allegedly arranged to buy from him.

Prosecutors charged today that Oasis Pritchett fatally shot Alfonso Rivas in the head while trying to rob Rivas of a stash of pot in Rivas's Codman Square apartment on Oct. 17.
Pritchett, who survived getting shot in the chest in 2009, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today in Dorchester District Court.

Boston Police report arresting Oasis Pritchett, 22, on charges he fatally shot Alfonso Rivas at 14 Lyndhurst St. in Dorchester on Oct. 17.
Pritchett, a Roxbury resident, was arrested Wednesday and is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court today on charges of murder, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

UPDATE: Boston Police report the victim, Alfonso Rivas, 23, was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.
Police are at 14 Lyndhurst St., where officers found a person shot in the head shortly after 11 a.m. The homicide unit has been summoned, just in case.
