The Boston City Council voted 8-5 today to approve Mayor Walsh's spending plan for the fiscal year that begins July 1, with the main issue being whether to make even more drastic changes in the police budget than the $12-million shift out of the police overtime account proposed by the mayor. After people began besieging WBZ, which airs "The Phantom Gourmet," with complaints, Dave Andelman tonight apologized for a making "a mistake" - a series of Facebook posts over the past ten days taking issue with Black Lives Matter protests and vigils. Read more.

Jake at HUB History took this photo today as crowds gathered at City Hall Plaza for the latest vigil and march. You would think a National Guard unit in Massachusetts, of all places, would know the significance of the large circle in front of the Old State House and not park an armed soldier and battle-ready Humvee right where authorities killed a black man, triggering events that ended with a revolution.
