Boston Restaurant Talk reports that all the stuff inside what is now the former Jeveli's on Chelsea Street is being advertised for auction. The restaurant, which opened in 1924, closed due to the pandemic in the fall of 2020, then never re-opened.

Public Facilities Commission Meeting: Department of Neighborhood Development 03-10-21

The Boston Public Facilities Commission this morning approved handing over a quarter-acre parcel off River Street in Mattapan to a group that will transform it into a "food forest" stocked with trees from which anybody can pick berries and nuts, and another parcel off Chelsea Street in East Boston to a group that will create a community garden. Live Boston reports a one-car, head-on crash around 1 a.m. on Chelsea Street at East Eagle Square left one dead and at least four other people transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

WCVB reports a driver slammed into somebody at the intersection of Chelsea and 13th streets in Charlestown, then dragged him a half mile before driving away, around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Live Boston reports an argument between a pedestrian and the driver he said almost hit him at Chelsea and Gove Streets around 5:15 p.m. on Friday ended when the driver pulled out a gun and shot the pedestrian.

He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening. The driver did not wait for police.

Boston Police report arresting an East Boston man they say got so irritated at people who were trying to keep him from breaking into cars outside Santarpio's he eventually started waving a gun at them, before gaining entry to one car by shooting out its window. Read more.

A couple who owns a three-family house on Chelsea Street might have to try renting it out as three apartments after the Zoning Board of Appeal today rejected their request to reclassify it as a "lodging house" so that they could continue renting it out in short-term rentals. Read more.

WBZ reports multiple shots were fired outside the Medallo Bar, 411 Chelsea St., around 2 a.m.

In February, a man was stabbed to death outside the bar.

Boston Police report a man who was stabbed outside the Modelo, 411 Chelsea St., around 1:55 a.m. on Sunday died today.

The man, identified by NBC Boston as Alfred Rodriguez Nunez, is Boston's eighth murder victim in 2019.
