Actually, Somerville has long claimed that it has "the nation's smallest national park" -- a triangle at the corner of Main St. and Broadway, with one tree and a marker commemorating the fact that Paul Revere passed that way (and turned the corner there) on his famous midnight ride. The National Park Service disclaims any interest in the site -- as I'm sure they'll disclaim interest in Skippy -- but Somerville residents claim that it's a national park based on the fact that President William Howard Taft was present at the park's dedication on July 4, 1910. In fact, they just celebrated the park's centennial. Across the street are Paul Revere Beverage and M&S Police Supply, which provide almost as much local interest as Best Pest Control.
