I just spotted the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new bus service from Alewife and Riverside to NYC. World Wide Bus (worldwidebus.com) starts service on October 27th, with introductory fares of $10. The regular fare is $15 weekdays, $20 weekends. They'll have free wi-fi.
I think it's great that there will finally be a bus service from the Cambridge/Somerville area, and an affordable service from Riverside.
They're probably using T property because Boston and Cambridge won't allow intercity buses to stop on the street, even though federal and state law allow interstate buses to do so without local permission.
