Only in Revere: Guy who runs city water system left out of emergency city meetings during last week's water crisis

Of course, there's a backstory - which doesn't make Revere look much better.

When looking to move to the North Shore (but not too far North) from JP, I started in Chelsea. I skipped right over Revere. I purchased in Lynn. With Revere as a neighbor, Lynn doesn't even have to try. It's already leagues better, and it's Lynn. It has more potential, less nonsense such as in the article, and better architecture.

How Revere can look so desolate and uninviting even with a great beachfront is beyond me. They must have tried to destroy the place. I'm not sure it could have been accomplished by accident.

And I'm not bitter.. just because they allowed developers to encroach on the old narrow gauge right away.. of course not..

I don't necessarily doubt this story, but I take anything reported by the Revere Journal with a grain of salt. It is absolutely the most biased newspaper "of record" of any town I have ever seen -- I am a print journalist who used to work at a paper on the North Shore and used to live in Revere. The Journal does a huge disservice to the citizens of Revere by furthering rumor on a daily basis. People still buy the Journal because the only other newspaper that covers Revere is the Lynn Item, which only does so marginally. I wouldn't be surprised if the editors at Universal Hub were unaware of the Journal's reputation before posting this link. (However, I am not blaming them for doing so, as there aren't many publications in the area this horrible.) The Revere Journal and its sister paper, The Lynn Journal, have been so egregious in their reporting, with many false accusations, exaggerations and blatant plagiarism from legitimate newspapers on a weekly basis for at least the last five years, probably longer.

On another point, I agree with the previous poster that there is always some nasty problem brewing in Revere government. The city can never seem to escape it. Everyone always has a big axe to grind and local bloggers tend to fan the flames of conflicts. Even in Lynn, where there are serious issues with gangs and crime, the government seems to run much more functionally and without a scandal every month.
