The seatless Red Line cars, that is, not the gum. The MBTA is doing a quick online survey.

Ironically
I posit that the lack of seats reduces the amount of used Big Red left on those cars compared to others.
Orange Crush?
I mean, we get that already - might be nice if there weren't all those "too small for even a runway model in a winter coat" seats in the way sitting empty.
Thats a hell of a survey.
Thats a hell of a survey.
It's also badly done, because 66% of the options are for "keep".
Don't Say You Weren't Warned, MBTA!
Expect an avalanche of apps for The Ride and lotsa lawsuits. My aching baby boom age hips, knees and ankles say no way in hell.
Why?
You do realize that Big Red cars are not used for all six cars on the train? The other cars have plenty of seating for persons with special needs.
These cars have also been in service for, what, a year in a half or more? Why would the "lawsuits" and "ride requests" be coming in only now?
That said, it is my experience that people using wheelchairs head for the Big Red cars because they have a lot more open space to work with. That announcement comes over and the strollers and chairs maneuver over to where the Big Red cars are going to load.
Big Red
And not Secretariat, either.
