Just after that update, MassDOT relayed word that the rail bed had washed out under the Riverside tracks between Chestnut Hill and Newton Center. Photo here. They say buses are running from Riverside to Reservoir.
You may need it to get into your neighborhood if there is a road block.
I'm not joking - my husband just had to show his, since the neighborhood is coned off due to flooding on a major arterial roadway. They don't want people cutting through the area and getting stuck.
