So, the story is no longer available at that url. But on a more general note, the Wicked Local site is bloated with known script-scrapers, ie code from companies that grab your browser info and use it to track you across the web and push spam/adverts at you. Yes, WL puts this code in on purpose, for renumeration from said companies. Nasty nasty.

I screwed up the URL (shocking, I know). Works now, thanks to Ron.

It is actually a sort of remarketing. How do you think free sites make money, dude?

Your browser agent string is not unique generally. You can clear your cookies (or block them from selected sites) Don't be such a luddite - the moment you plug your computer into the internet, your privacy and anonymity is compromised. Sure, you can use that hippie crap like Tor, or turn on private browsing, but hey, you're supporting your favorite site full of flame wars and hackish commentary like this one by looking, clicking or buying something from the ads.

Let me know if you want an education in how the world works.

PS - airlines sell your phone number to telemarketrs.

Most web pages are filled with cross-site tracking bugs. Companies, including Google and Facebook, know most of every single web page you look at. They also know who you are, even if you're not logged in. Have a nice day.

Internet security is one of the things I am professionally conversant with, anonymous trolls.

Inexact but workable analogy: There's a huge difference between someone choosing to go into a store because they like the window display or advertising, and having every vendor on the street pass around all their customers' receipts and mug shots to each other.

Please go teach your granny to suck eggs.

kthxbye

Misleading headline as the owner states they are temporarily "closing" in order to alter both the name and the look of the space. Done primarily to re-brand & re-market themselves.
You know-like how Avalon was once called "Spit".
