Finally, officially sanctioned T shirts
By adamg on Wed, 06/01/2011 - 12:02am
And T mugs, T shower curtains and these T flip-flops. The MBTA and Ward Maps in Cambridge today officially open the MBTA online gift store, where you can buy all sorts of T tchotchkes - even old destination signs from extinct trolley lines and new custom-made life-size station signs.
Ward Maps is operating the shop at no cost to the T for the next five years and will pay the system royalties on sold merch. The T hopes the new revenue will help defray some small part of its operating expenses.

The "T" hats . . .
. . . look kinda cool.
Best offer
I have a T token for sale. Just shined it.
No minimum bid.
Shockingly
No sign of the "I hate the Green Line" shirt.
fun w/ colors
But there is a super rare Green Line - Inbound to Oak Grove magnet on there. Oh if only everyone who takes that line would just fork over the $2.95 all the MBTA's financial problems would magically evaporate.
I hope you're joking
and that you do know that the Orange Line has a station called Green (Street), in JP.
That's my second favorite Orange Line name
Because it's Green on Orange!
Of course, nothing matches Ruggles (the Fabric Softener Bear), except maybe Wonderland, but that's on a different line altogether.
That's on a different line.
Ahem. Actually, my favorite Orange Line name isn't a station, but Donut & Donuts at Sullivan Square. What could be better than a donut? Why, a donut and MORE donuts!
Do we know
...why it used to be "Green Street", but is now just "Green"?
Oh, a wise guy, eh?

those vintage signs and
those vintage signs and scrolls from old trolleys are pretty amazing--
the little kiosk in park station used to sell MBTA shirts, socks, mugs, etc until about 2007. I was bummed when they stopped, because I only have the red and green line mugs, which are much better looking than the new ones IMHO
They should also sell snow
They should also sell snow boots.
Better yet
... how about a handy packing ladder for climbing over unshoveled snow banks at the bus stops?
Recommendation
I've read both the Red Line and the "When Boston Rode The El" photo books. For anyone who enjoys transit history and vintage photos, they're excellent.

If Mae West had lived in Boston

Well, my beige . . .
. . . "T" hat will be here in a few days. That's at least one purchase from this post's link.
I Can't Wait...
... until people start complaining about pink T hats as being worn by johnny-come latelies and poseurs.
(Of course, I just checked, and there are no pink T hats. There should be. They'd sell a ton of them.)
(Especially to the johnny-come-latelies and poseurs.)

Hopefully I won't . . .
. . . Lose this hat to quickly. I have a bad tendency to lose hats, gloves, and scarfs.
You can find your missing
You can find your missing hats, scarves and gloves on the escalators at Porter Square.
Flip Flops?
One would think they would have walking shoes - it is, afterall, the only reliable transportation around here.
