House fires in Mattapan, Dorchester this morning

The Boston Fire Department reports a fire at 83 W. Selden St. in Mattapan around 8:40 a.m.

Eight residents in the two-family home were displaced by the fire, caused by a second-floor short circuit, the department says, adding one firefighter suffered a cut hand.

Shortly before 10 a.m., firefighters responded to a basement fire at 3 Mill St. in Dorchester. One firefighter suffered shortness of breath.
