Anecdotally, the underage crowd this year seemed better behaved than last. From my annual vantage point from a ground-level studio in the 300 block of West Broadway, I didn't witness the same level of the stupidity I saw last year (throwing bottles, loud couples drunkenly arguing, people falling down, etc).

Overall, and in no small part due to the weather, this was one of the best parades I can remember.

I've worked the past 6 years at a faneuil hall bar and so far this has been the most well behaved st. patty's day. I came in expecting much worse.

of citations by hometown. But with it being so nice outside today I'm too lazy to bother myself.

Tried to get a pic for UH but didn't have time.
Saw the BPD bike squad staging in Andrew Square.
Fully over one half were missing a front or rear light.
At least 1/3 had no lights at all.

They mounted up and then when into the intersection and rallied a la Critical Mass but made CM look like a marching band.
Complete clusterfuck with cars not knowing what do do and with cops on bikes making random conflicting and ambiguous gestures to go around or stop.
Shit show.

Well, it's the first time there was ever a parade in this neighborhood, so we should cut the police some slack.

"officers were able to locate the guilty party"

Note to the BPD's Media Relations department: that would be a "suspect", not a "guilty party".

And while we're at it:

"young children ... who displayed negligible levels of discomfort"

I'm sure there are plenty of competent writers looking for work in Boston. How can they replace the incompetent person writing these press releases?
