Boston back to being the anti-Sally Fields of cities

Bostonian at heart Joe Keohane writes the hate is back west of Worcester, but that rather than just whining about it, we embrace the fact that others are simply jealous, or something.

Pure envy. Don't take the bait from Gawker or the Onion. All you do is provide them the oxygen the haters thrive on.

I almost linked to the Gawker piece that set Keohane off. But then I remembered that a) Gawker pays its writers based in part on page views and b) the author of that particular piece knows how to drum up page views by hating on Boston - he's done it before, and admits it to Keohane.

But the Onion piece, well, that was satire and worth linking to in a city where officials still publicly fret about whether or not we're "world class."

Nolan is a troll, pure and simple. For a little relief may I suggest:?

The Onion article was definitely a piece laughing at itself. When you laugh at the Onion taking shots at other cities but get offended when they hit close to your home, well. Dunno what to say about that.

That said, they were spot-on when they wrote the "Something Wrong with Literally Everything in Apartment" article and used Somerville in the dateline.
