Mattapan men convicted of gunning down couple in Hyde Park apartment while toddler slept

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Michael Corbin and Earl Fulgiam for the 2011 double murder of Billie Marie Kee and Kevin Thomas, Jr. in their apartment at 957 Hyde Park Ave., the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The verdict means a mandatory sentence of life without possibility of parole.

According to the DA's office:

The evidence and testimony showed that the defendants bound the victims in the course of an armed robbery, then repeatedly stabbed and shot them. Both victims suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including injuries that claimed their lives. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

In the aftermath of the murders, investigators recovered a 9mm semiautomatic handgun at the scene. The handgun was a ballistic match to the firearm that killed Kee and Thomas. On the magazine inside were multiple fingerprints matching those of Fulgiam. Also recovered at the scene was an electrical cord used to bind Kee. It had been cut from a curling iron. On the curling iron was a fingerprint matched to Corbin. Corbin's prints were on file from prior arrests and convictions for aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm, mayhem, and other offenses; Fulgiam’s were on file from prior arrests and convictions for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, and other offenses.

Additionally, cell phone records showed that Corbin was in contact with Thomas in the days and hours preceding the murders, that Corbin was also in frequent contact with Fulgiam during the same time frame, and that both defendants were in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene before, during, and after Kee and Thomas were killed.

Kee left two children, one of whom was 4 at the time and sleeping in another room in the apartment while his mother was murdered. Thomas also left two children.

A place of $1500 attempted murder bails, and thugs who get locked up only after they kill someone.

No one chimed in to accuse you of being racist yet...or of living out in the suburbs.

living in mom's basement.

I don't think you'll find anyone here disagreeing that violent offenders need to be held in lieu of bail. There’s a few judges that regularly get outrage from the crew here.

Well then good Sir, would you care to enlighten us as to where you live, what you do for a living and whether or not the majority of your income is derived from your salary? Also, we'd like to know how much you pay for your flood insurance, as your bleeding heart and white guilt tears must be causing a flood of biblical proportions on a daily basis.

By "we" he means "he" because I do not have any interest as to what occupation or the salary of anyone who posts on here. We can all agree that MA likes criminals. Why else offer simple bail to bastards who should be punished with a prison sentence..

No, we do not all agree that MA likes crime. And bail is not meant as punishment, either here or anywhere else - it's meant to compel a defendant to show up in court. Whether some judges go too low on bail is another question.

Is there anything wrong with violent repeat offenders routinely getting laughably low bails and not showing up in court? Mr Dougan aka every criminal's dream judge didn't even get a slap on the wrist, so I guess those in power to decide think it's just fine and dandy. But then again, those decision makers tend to be geographically far removed from places that are affected by their decisions, so they tend to go for the option that soothes their bleeding heart and dries their white guilt tears. To hell with all the poor inner city bastards that are going to get robbed, shot or run over.
