Car on 93 south is all a-flame; for motorists stuck, that's a shame
By adamg on Mon, 03/24/2014 - 10:01am
UPDATE, 10:31 a.m. State Police report the road is open again.
State Police reported a car-b-q around 9:40 a.m. on I-93 south at Furnace Brook. All lanes were shut to let the Quincy FD do its thing.
Ed. note: Rhyming headline because I had to get it out of my system, I'll try not to do that again, at least not for highway fires.

This is the 3rd
Flaming car I've either seen or heard about in the last week.
Blame the weather?
Freeze/thaw cycles can crack things - including connectors, hoses, wiring harnesses. Salt spray can lead to corrosion and short circuits.
Appropriate
Appropriately, it happened near the Furnace Brook Parkway
