Boston weather nerds on tenterhooks as weekend storm approaches

Could this be the weekend we break the record? Even the National Weather Service in Taunton has gotten into the game:

AT THIS POINT...IT LOOKS LIKE A PERIOD OF SNOW THEN CHANGING TO RAIN. PERHAPS THIS WILL GET BOSTON THE 2 INCHES IT NEEDS TO BREAK THE RECORD FOR SNOWIEST WINTER. IT WILL BE A CLOSE CALL THOUGH. IN ADDITION...THERE ARE 4 TO 5 MORE DAYS FOR THE FORECAST TO CHANGE.
