Writing about GPS makes me stupid
Sorry about that. Fixed now.
Don't you mean "recalculating

Actually, it's the shortest route through the square
Take a right, travel below the new porta potty, avoid the students walking across the super cross walk while reading their texts and walking in front of moving vehicles, the pan-handlers, the pit, and end up on Mt Auburn, in time to avoid construction on the bridge. Epic route that has been used for years.
Your car is here sir...
Your car is here sir...
If you do that
I think you're obligated to fill your car with waiting passengers and take them to their stops.
Hard to see the plate...
Difficult to tell if it's a 71 or a 73.
Fatality circa 1990
I think it was around 1990, a few years after the tunnel reopened, when a high-speed chase that started in Concord ended up as a fatality inside the southbound bus tunnel. The culprit led the cops in via Route 2 and Concord Ave., then figured he'd take the tunnel to elude his chasers. Wasn't prepared for the sharp turn at the unloading platform, and wrapped his car around one of the columns. This was around 2:00 am, after service had ended for the night, so no one else was in the tunnel at the time. For years afterwards you could still see the marks on that column. Of course, this was all before GPS.
There was also a time when a semi-trailer started to go down the ramp near Cambridge Common in broad daylight. Luckily he stopped (and had to back out) before his rig shorted out the trolley overhead. It was shortly after this that they put up the large signs saying "DANGER NO TRUCKS".
