Kosta looked out his window at Brooks and Bigelow in Brighton around 10 p.m. He reports firefighters moved the remains of the tree out of the way - and that it didn't take out any wires.

Looks like it snapped off
The tree-hater's techniques run more to ringbarking and such low-effort, high-impact, useless-shithead techniques. It looks like a mostly vertical break here, so I'd guess wind.
