Baby born in a Honda Accord on the side of the road in Cambridge

Sometimes babies just can't wait. Cambridge Police report officers, EMTs and firefighters responded to Mass. Ave. and Upland Road where a woman was in the process of giving birth.

Her husband had been driving her to the hospital when her water broke shortly after 8 a.m. and he pulled over to the side of the road.

Firefighters, paramedics and officers quickly arrived and delivered the 7 pound 13 ounce baby boy inside the couple’s Honda Accord at approximately 8:20 a.m. Following the delivery, the mother and her new son were taken by ambulance to a hospital, where everyone is resting comfortably.

As a result of being born at one, does the baby get free use of Cambridge parking meters for life?
