Probably not good when the weather drives the forecasters nuts

Oh, don't worry, we're not expected to get a Mega Killer Nor'easter or anything like that in the next week (just some snow and rain Tuesday into Wednesday), but unusual weather patterns in the northern hemisphere are causing angst at the local National Weather Service office.

The officer's normally dry and low-key forecaster's discussion has a longish discussion on whether a low about to form over the Bering Strait will eventually mean colder temperatures and storms for us here in Massachusetts. In a normal winter, it would, but this has not been a normal winter, and you can almost feel the forecaster just throwing his or her hands up in the air:

Perhaps rambling, totally out of my mind, just trying to make sense of it all. This winter has not met initially though expectations by many in the meteorological community.

Ed. note: Yes, for the forecaster's discussion, the NWS has switched to lower case, so no more dramatic IT'S BOMBOGENESIS BABY! declarations.

Oh man, when was the last 'normal' winter we had then? Certainly not the last two... this one still has the potential to beat us down though I guess it's already been rather mild.
