Would you want someone painting your fence if you hadn't asked for it and told them to stop? What if they were painting it an obnoxious color? What if you'd just had it painted this summer and they were defacing it?

That's an ambiguous pronoun. I would absolutely believe that a Brookliner would call 5-0 on someone painting their own fence.

Yup, the antecedent of "his" - a man - doesn't make this much of a story as written. Pronoun-antecedent agreement is one of my biggest pet peeves...

I don't usually listen to these guys (really!) but the radio was on 98.5 after the night Patriots game a couple of weeks ago, these guys have a segment called Brookline 911 where they play clips of phone calls to the Brookline Police, e.g. a turkey entered someone's house, dogs barking in a park, other hijinks.
Turkey might be a legit call.
I would imagine that Animal Control knows how to get an angry 25 lb bird out of my house with less damage to the house than DIY. I’d probably give myself 2 or 3 tries with a broom and then if that didn’t go well I would call in an artillery strike from the professionals.

Police log with no dispositions?
The police log should be in every local newspaper but this one only gives 50% of the story. Is there a reason they don't put the end result or disposition of each call?

This police log operates on much more of a Hill Street Blues model - the turkey and fence painter plot lines will weave their way in and out of several episodes, briefly intersecting once or twice, before being resolved.
