Bedford switches to remote learning; cites in-school transmission as one reason

The Bedford Citizen reports that Bedford announced today it's shutting its high school to students, in part because of evidence of "in-school transmission of COVID-19 at Bedford High School," in part because of evidence that despite all the warnings, a number of students continue to party like it's no big deal.

Not surprising. My parents live in Bedford still and I visit on the weekends. Bored rich teenagers do bored rich teenager things like hang out without wearing masks.

That being said, younger kids I see out and about seem to take it seriously.

Too bad most people over the age of 16 don't.

In-school transmission is likelier as case counts in a town go up. We shouldn't take the first 6 weeks of this school year, when cases were low, as proof that transmission won't happen in schools when case counts are x4 or x8 what they were in September.
