One resident injured as fire erupts in apartment building on Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan

Boston firefighters responded to 1333 Blue Hill Ave. at Hazleton St. in Mattapan for what became a three-alarm fire that burned through the third floor and roof this afternoon.

One resident was injured, more than 40 made homeless, the Boston Fire Department reports.

At 1:35 p.m., firefighters were ordered off the roof. The fire was declared knocked down shortly after 2:10 p.m.
