Brighton school locked down after student makes hoax call to 911 about a person with a gun

Boston Police officers, including a K9 and specialized gun units, swarmed the Mary Lyon Upper School at 95 Beechcroft Rd. in Brighton around 12:20 p.m. after a crying girl called 911 and said there was a person with a gun inside the school, then hung up.

School staffers locked down the school as police took up position outside each of the school's entrances. Students who were outside on the school playground were escorted down the street to the lower school.

After entering the school, police found a girl in a restroom who made the call. No person with a gun was found.
