Some Orange Line riders got home later; service was stopped due to an elevator

Only on the T:

The elevator at the Orange Line's Mass. Ave. stop stopped working around 4:25 p.m., trapping two people inside.

You wouldn't think that would stop the trains, but it turns out arriving Boston firefighters discovered they had to get on the outbound tracks to access some of the elevator machinery, so the T cut the power, the firefighters did what they had to do (they reported a bit of smoke from the machinery, but no fire), they rescued the two people from the stuck lift and then they got off the tracks and service resumed. The cut power resulted in delays of about 15 minutes, the T reports.

I wish I had taken a photograph of Back Bay at 5, but it was insane. That said, trains going to Forest Hills were stacked on top of each other downtown, giving me an easy ride home, while people taking the Green Line's "alternative service" were basically screwed at the worst possible time.

Maybe my "headways like it was 2019" service balanced things out so that it was an average of 15 minute delays.

If you are stuck on the Orange Line, you are not using public transit right.

Are you advising me to move to a different city with better transit? Or would it just be more pleasant to be stuck on the green line, because I can hop off at any of the above-ground stations and stand around in the cold instead?

There is something wrong about a situation in which the bus is so often my best and fastest way to get somewhere using a transit system that also includes subways and streetcars.

You're engaging with a low-effort Z-grade troll who has mastered the "fart in the elevator and then hop out" genre of post better than anyone this side of magoo
