Some more details from the Herald
The Herald talks to a witness, also informs its readers from west of Worcester that the hotel is "in the heart of the city's high-end shopping district."
here's some idiotic, space-filler journalism...
...from the Herald story, attempting to make a point when there's no point to be made:
As in, so what?! If the previous homicide involved anything resembling the killing of someone working as a prostitute, then it's worth mentioning. But an event that occurred some 2 1/2 years ago, with a situation nothing like this one, leading to the inane comment that the area "is not immune to violent crime"? Sheeeeez. Send this reporter to write news for Channel 7.
Seems regular journalism...
...to look at history of crime in the area, to detect possible patterns that should be brought to public attention.
And I guess, once you've done that, it doesn't hurt to report what you found, since knowing that you found little-to-nothing is useful info too.
I just wouldn't have said "The area is not immune to violent crime," since that seems misleading from the actual facts, even if literally true.
Patterns?
Downstairs, cooks stab each other in the kitchen.
Upstairs, visitors shoot fancy whores.
Calling this a "possible pattern that should be brought to public attention" is reeeallly stretching it.
Once you've looked up previous incidents nearby, not using it would be ... wasting perfectly good irrelevant but sensational filler.
And if the teevee did that, what would it have left?
May have been attempted robbery, police say
BPD statement:
She was 26, white, victim of repeated gunshot wounds to the torso.
Victim identified
Boston Police report she was Julissa Brisman, 26, of New York City.
That's a really uncommon name
and someone with that name is an actress in NYC, appearing in this video.

poor kid
From some of the news coverage (http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/200...), it sounds like she had her demons to deal with but was a good person at heart.
Julissa, not Juliana
Fixed
Thanks.
