Snow rage on a bus: Teen arrested on charges he spit at driver who wouldn't open rear door due to a snowbank
Transit Police report arresting a Dorchester teen on charges of assault and battery on a public employee and interfering with public transportation because of an incident this afternoon on a 19 bus on Geneva Avenue.
According to police, the driver pulled into a stop outside 51 Geneva Ave. around 1 p.m.
KiDante Roberts, 18, grew agitated when the rear door wouldn't open, police say:
The victim informed Roberts the rear door could not be opened due to the excessively high snowbanks. Roberts began to yell obscenities at the victim/operator. At this time there were approximately 25 passengers on board the bus that were forced to endure Roberts tirade. Eventually Roberts proceeded to the front of the bus, however prior exiting through the front door Roberts spit in the operator's face causing him to remove his foot from the brake causing the bus to roll forward.
The driver alerted two nearby Boston Police officers, who nabbed Roberts and held him until Transit Police arrived. In addition to the criminal charges, police say, Roberts got a $100 citation for marijuana found on him during booking.
