Fields Corner Game Stop held up at knifepoint

The Game Stop outlet at 518 Geneva Ave. was held up around 8:15 p.m. by a black male in his late teens or early 20s, dressed in all black and 5'8" or 5'9", who took money from the register.

I just noticed that Dorchester had a Game Stop earlier tonight as I was driving down Park Street and I was in bewilderment because it sticks out as a sore thumb of a location that's being asked to be knocked over. It was knocked over about an hour later.

How does this place stick up? This is the first time I've heard of game stop being held up and it's been there for a while.
There is usually an security guard at the liquor store and people are always walking around in that area. Someone probably saw the robber walk out the store.

I guess the loud and awful music blaring outside isn't enough of a deterrent. They try real hard, with Sound of Music and other Musak classics. Seriously though, I'm surprised that place doesn't get robbed every day. There's a real tough crowd that hangs at America's Food Basket and Mickey D's .

You're a disingenuous troll if you're going to pretend that's all there is, and pretend you know that there's a reference to "black people". There are drunks, druggies, and hustlers, white, black, and Latino. And the kids that hang after school cause problems too. The liquor store puts common products behind the counter for a reason, products that are on open shelves everywhere else in Dorchester. The mall pumps out the easy listening music to the parking lot for a reason. The supermarket insists on checking your backpacks for a reason. The stores have security guards for a reason. And its not the families that are a problem. Who ever said the problem was families, besides you?

BTW, do you ever shop at the supermarket, the liquor store, and the dry cleaner? I didn't think so. Have you ever talked to their staffs about crime? I didn't think so. The guys at the liquor store and the women at the cleaners have plenty to say. Ask them. Check out the BPD stats. Every single week without exception, there are incidents at that mall, the most common is shoplifting. Also ask a cop about avoiding the area around 2-4 PM, when the kids get out of school.

So nope, it's not gypsy cabs and families shopping. Nice try.

For the last 30 days, BPD stats show 4 larcenies, 3 assaults, 1 drug arrest, and 3 cases of vandalism. Probably more than just gypsy cab drivers and families shopping for groceries.
