The US Attorney's office reports the arrest of 41 people overnight in a crackdown on the Columbia Point Dawgs, a gang named for the housing project that was torn down in the 1980s to make way for Harbor Point. Seven more people are being sought. Read more.

John Duffill reports two people were shot around 8:45 p.m. at 64 Lawrence Ave. As those victims were being transported to a local hospital, police found a third victim, grazed by a bullet. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.

The Boston Preservation Alliance posts an interview with city archaeologist Joe Bagley. He brings us up to date on the archaeological digs in the front yard of Old City Hall (site of an even older home for Boston Latin School) - they've found the remains of a building, but which one? - and alerts us that his next major project will be at at the Epiphany School in Dorchester, looking for an outhouse that would have been in use when the site was home of the Industrial School for Girls in the mid-19th century.

Memorial for Jonathan Dos Santos in Dorchester

At what has become a memorial for Dos Santos at Fuller and Washington.

A Dorchester Municipal Court judge today rejected arguments from lawyers for a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old that they posed no flight risk after being charged with gunning down another teen and ordered them held without bail.

In a tense courtroom, Assistant Suffolk County District Attorney Jennifer Hickman said Raeshawn Moody, 14, and Dushawn Taylor-Gennis, 16, patiently waited at the intersection of Washington and Fuller streets Wednesday evening for Jonathan Dos Santos, 16. Read more.

Boston Police report officers responding to a report of gunfire arrived at 21 Dacia St around 3:25 a.m. in time to see a man "attempting to rack a black firearm as he fled the scene." Read more.

Jason Grover reports the driver of this car thought he'd come under fire this evening and was so shook up, he crashed his car at Columbia Road and Hamlet Street. In fact, it was fireworks, not gunfire, Grover - who said he got a whiff of that distinctive fireworks smell - says:

There were a series of sharp cracks that could have been mistaken for gunshots then our building shook.

While riding a bicycle shortly after 8 p.m. in the area of 128 Fuller, near Washington Street, Stanley Staco reports. Boston Police report the 16-year-old died and that they are looking for two suspects: "both black males in their late teens or early twenties, wearing green hoodies who fled the area on foot on Washington Street towards Mora Street."

Proposed DotBlock

Architects for developer Demetrios Dasco have released renderings of his proposed DotBlock, which would replace a series of low-slung storefronts and industrial buildings at Dorchester Avenue and Hancock Street with 384 apartments, 60,000 square feet of retail space, a 450-car garage and a large pedestrian walkway parallel to Dot. Ave.

The renderings are in a filing with the BRA (42M PDF file) for what is so far the largest of a growing number of projects proposed for Dorchester. Read more.

Stanley Staco reports a man was stabbed outside 150 Hancock St. around 5:30 p.m. - not long after somebody was robbed of an iPhone on the street by crooks smart enough to insist he turn off the phone's tracking software first. The stabbing victim is 17 and lives in Hyde Park.

A rollover shortly before 10 p.m. near the Neponset exit southbound brought ambulances racing to the scene and quickly backed traffic up to Chinatown.

State Police reported at 10:11 p.m. that only one lane southbound was open - and that the left lane northbound was shut.
